FC Diablos extend unbeaten streak, Walker scores lone goal of game
Bloomington, Illinois – In a high physical match on Saturday night, FC Diablos came out on top and managed to hold Cedar Rapids Inferno to a 1-0 win.
Bloomington local Jordan Walker missed last week’s draw with the Chicago Mustangs, but came back against Cedar Rapids as if he wasn’t even gone. The forward scored the winning goal in the 42nd minute after his shot deflected off a defender and sailed over the keeper.
Walker’s goal tally is now up to seven goals this season and still stands as the top scorer for the team.
Cedar Rapids Inferno nearly scored the equalizer in the 84th minute. A shot right outside the box was on frame and hit off the crossbar leaving goalkeeper Lucas Fontana frozen in his spot.
The 1-0 win extended FC Diablos’ unbeaten streak to five games in a row and hold a record of 3-0-2.
Coming up next
The next game for FC Diablos will be at home on Wednesday June 23 at 7 p.m. against Midwest Premier League West Division conference table leader RWB Adria.
